Introduction

Local Group St.Petersburg in Russia invite 30 students from all over Europe to their Vision event from 29th of March to the 4th of April 2010.

Vision St.Petersburg 2010 is part of the seminar series on the theme of Efficiency in Communication.

Taking part to this event means that you will learn more on "lost in translation theme" through lectures and company visits.

Cultural activities and parties are the other part of that event.

Sint Petersburg

Sint Peterburg is one of the most beautiful cities of Europe.

As Madrid in Spain, Sint Petersburg is a city build in the middle of nowhere by a king or a Tsar in this case.

Sint Petersburg was build in order to be a window over Europe.

It is a symbol in Russia of modernism and culture but it was build with the blood of many slaves.

Many strangers especially from France, Itlay and The Netherlands brought theirs know-how and knowledge to build an beautiful city with so many universities, museums, dance and music halls, theaters, churches and palaces.

Moreover, the city is situated on many islands with beautiful bridges and canals.

The Vision event

ESTIEM organise 12 Vision events every year with this year the theme efficiency in communication. ESTIEM Russian Students have planned interesting lectures done by expert teachers on the theme of "lost in translation". Some cultural and sport activities are also planned.

Russia is an country which face a growing part of migrants from Europe who are attracted by businesses possibilities. But Russia is a country whith a different alphabet, a different culture and some companies face difficulties with translations regarding conversations or even dailylife with its international employees or with its international suppliers and customers. A growing issue as Russia is more open to the global world everyday.

By attending this event, you will never wonder anymore how to behave in front of someone from Russia met in a business or casual context.

Workshop and Company visits are planned with international and local companies which are interested in international students, then a perfect occasion to maybe get an internship in Russia if you are motivated.

This event is a rare occasion to get into this beautiful country has you need an invitation letter from an inhabitants in order to get your required visa.

Students from : Germany, France, Turkey, Austria, Greece, Sweden...

This is one of the most famous ESTIEM events and that guarantees a huge diversity of participants.

Practical details

• Out of the 30 participants, 2 students from Solvay can be selected to take part to that unique experience.
• It cost around 70 euros and include accomodations at the university hostel, meals and activities.
• You need a Visa and the currency is rubble.
